The most exciting movie about boredom since Amistad.
A Day in the Life is a motion picture of epic quests in the most unepic of surroundings: a quiet suburb. Brett, a philosophical lad, is determined to find the meaning of life, wherever it is lurking. His best friend Travis has a different quest: defeat the sort of boredom that is only possible when you are a suburban teenager with no weekend plans. Unbeknownst to them, they are being followed.
Jon, a photographer with a dubious grip on reality has vowed to take the GSPOT - the Greatest Single Photograph Of all
Time - and he is convinced Travis is in it. As they drive around their small,
suburban, community, they find allies: the witty and attractive Agnes, and the
awkward and affected Alex. They also find hope: the mysterious Horlin is
having a party, one which promises to be a total bash. Meanwhile Jon and his group
of unruly henchmen are hot on their trail. Who will succeed? Who will fail?
Is this party really gonna be any good? A Day in the Life answers those
questions and raises a few more.
Paris, Summer 2001. Pacing the corridors of a European Best Western, precocious teenager Stussy Coveck is locked in a deadly conflict - with himself.
"You're not creative anymore! You used to do all kinds of creative things. Now you don't do anything," a voice in his head shouts.
"Well, what do you want me to do?" he responds to himself.
"Well, you could write a script."
"Ok."
Inspired by the works of Quentin Tarantino and Kevin Smith, Stussy began fashioning a script which he hoped would entertain by being interesting, as opposed to following some sort of rigid formula or story convention.
New Orleans, Spring 2002. Sitting in his dorm room, Stussy smiles. It is complete. His first screenplay. He feels weird, like the first time he automanipulated. He sends the screenplay to his friends. They respond with mild amusement, like after hearing a pleasant voicemail, all except for one.

New York, Spring 2002. NYU Film student Mossimo Coveck sits in his dorm room, contemplating whether he too, "should coco" when he recieves a movie script from his old pal Stussy. Reading it over, he discovers that it has potential. He calls Stussy.
"We can make this. Do you want to make this?"
"Are you sure we can make this? Is it any good?
"Yes. And it will be easy."
And from those two lies...a legend is born.

Birmingham, Michigan, Summer 2003. Calling together a cast and crew from locations as diverse as, Huntington Woods, MI, Birmingham, MI Bloomfield Township, MI, Bloomfield Hills, MI and of course, Farmington Hills, MI, the Coveck brothers began production of their feature motion picture. The shoot which lasted only 25 days was hellish. The actors, many of whom were cast in the week before shooting began, had no rehersal time. A consistent schedule was nonexistent. Locations were begged for, borowed and stolen. And Stussy was losing his mind (it would leave permanently a week after shooting wrapped) and his apartment was a nuclear disaster. The catering, from Spangas Coney Island, was consistently excellent, though.
Now it is done. Let the celebration begin, and please, signal the plane.
